About Us

Pack 1076 was first chartered on July 1st of 1981 in the beautiful city of Alameda, California. We primarily serve the Bayfarm community and local schools and community groups. We meet once a month at Earhart Elementary School in the multipurpose room. Our dens meet once a month at either Bayfarm or Earhart schools or at one of our den leader’s homes.

Scouting Benefits

Scouting provides youth with an opportunity to try new things, provide service to others, build self-confidence, and reinforce ethical standards. These opportunities not only help them when they are young but also carry forward into their adult lives, improving their relationships, their work lives, their family lives, and the values by which they live.

A 2005 study by Harris Interactive found that 83 percent of men who were Scouts in their youth agree that the values they learned in Scouting continue to be very important to them today. Eighty-seven percent of men who remained in Scouting five or more years attribute some of their self-confidence in their work to their Scouting experience. Half of the group say Scouting had a positive effect on their career development and advancement, and 83 percent say there have been real-life situations where having been a Scout helped them be a better leader.

Life is real….

There are so many great reasons to get into scouting but one of the best reasons is because scouting is real! We live in a digital world where kids are bombarded with technology all day, every day, why not take a step out of that digital world and enjoy the real world. Not only do scouts have a better appreciation of the environment, and the people in it, they are also introduced to physical activity! Let’s be honest, if you let them, most kids would sit on the couch all day long playing on a mobile device, computer, or watching television, we all know this is NOT a healthy lifestyle, why not take a second to unplug and check out the real world?

Lifes Journey

A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Originally a quote by Lao Tsu, and reintroduced to the United States by former President John F. Kennedy, this quote is very true. When preparing your son for the future, the things they do early on affect them greatly and have a ripple effect as they grow. Why not help them start off on the right path with a beginning in Scouting. A Scout Is: Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean, and Reverent. This is the Scout Law, and a list of traits that scouting reinforces, and employers are looking for.
